Check out my class playlists: https://open.spotify.com/user/1275933516?si=f011431492004c6c Yin Yoga Yin yoga is a gentle and meditative style of yoga that utilizes long-held postures (typically one to several minutes) to soften and lengthen the connective tissue, joints, and ligaments of the body. Most (but not all) of the postures are done seated or low to the ground. Yin postures stimulate the meridians, or acupressure points, within the body to help encourage proper energy flow. During the yin yoga practice, the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest) becomes activated, which can allow us to feel calm, peaceful, and grounded. Additionally, it is a practice of deep listening and observing; the more quiet and still we become, the more we can observe and listen to what is going on within our internal world. Yin can be a great entry point for beginners. It is accessible for nearly all bodies as there are a lot of variations and modifications. It's my favorite style of yoga and is what brought me to practicing yoga regularly.
